This session will focus on the USAID Medicines, Technologies, and Pharmaceutical Services (MTaPS) Program and its predecessor programs, that have assisted countries to strengthen governance to promote evidence-based decision-making, enhance accountability, improve efficiency, and reduce opportunities for corruption. The session will highlight lessons learned at the country level based on reforms to strengthen governance and oversight. These reforms target policies and legislation, organizational structures, systems and procedures, and ethical practices. A deep dive analysis of one country, Bangladesh, will consider the change model underlying an initiative to strengthen governance for contraceptive and reproductive health supply, including the application of technology, changes to strengthen institutions, and capacity building for oversight.
